Introduction to Rock Climbing
Northeast Avalanche Institute - 2017/2018 Avalanche Courses
Kingdom Adventures Mountain Guides is proud to serve as the sponsor and instructional provider of SOLO wilderness medicine courses in Northern Vermont. The two-day Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is SOLO's most popular creating a solid foundation in the basics of backcountry medical care. Initially offered in 1975, this course was the first of its kind in the United States, and it is the curriculum upon which all other backcountry medicine courses are based. SOLO CPR certification is available for all WFA courses for an additional fee ($40). This is a great course for mountain bikers, hikers, climbers, backpackers, backcountry skiers and other outdoor enthusiasts who venture out for day and weekend trips. The WFA may be used to recertify your SOLO WFR. WFA Course Dates. $175 per person - tuition only; SOLO CPR $40 per person

Advanced Wilderness First Aid & CPR - $275 per person
The AWFA course goes into greater depth than the WFA on the basic first aid subjects. while emphasizing leadership skills and new skills such as litter packaging and traction splinting.

Wilderness First Responder Review Course Dates. $200 per person - tuition only
SOLO CPR re-certification included. Wilderness Medical Associates, Wilderness 
Medicine Institute, University of Vermont, Aerie Backcountry Medicine, ASHI, Wilderness Medicine Outfitters, Wilderness Medicine Training Center, and Remote Medical International WFR certifications are recognized by SOLO for recertification.

Wilderness First Responder. $550 per person - tuition only
This 8-day course is the recognized industry standard for those who work as backcountry trip leaders, camp counselors, mountain guides, river guides, and ski patrollers. SOLO CPR certification included.

Kingdom Adventures Mountain Guides offers a variety of outdoor programs from wilderness first aid training to avalanche education courses depending on the season. Please see our program descriptions below, and feel free to contact us with any questions that you may have. We work with individuals who are eligible for Americorps and VSAC funding. We look forward to working with you! 
Easy to moderately difficult top rope and one-pitch climbs provide participants with a great introduction to the vertical rock environment to learn the basics that focuses on a progression of skills: fitting your helmet and harness, tying into the climbing rope, learning how to belay, learning how to move over rock, and learning how to rappel. All technical equipment will be provided.

We are proud to serve as an official sponsor of American Institute for Avalanche Research and Education (AIARE) avalanche courses. If you venture into the backcountry for skiing, snowboarding, winter mountaineering, or climbing you should consider gaining a basic level of knowledge and skills needed for traveling more safely in avalanche terrain. This three day/24 hour course uses a combination of classroom and field experience to provide an introduction to avalanche hazard management that includes a basic understanding of avalanches; decision making and risk management in avalanche terrain; basic snowpack assessment skills that are practically oriented for direct application in the field; and companion rescue skills using an avalanche beacon, probe, and shovel. At the end of the course, participants will earn a certificate of completion. Please contact us for additional course information.

This one day course is designed to introduce the skills associated with waterfall ice climbing. During the beginning of the day, you will learn about the equipment and techniques used in ice climbing. The majority of the day will be devoted to the practical application of ice climbing skills for movement over moderately angled ice terrain. All technical equipment will be provided.
